Harry Round Cup Final Historical Moment Officials

By Phil Reade

Match Officials Announced

The Wolverhampton & District Sunday Football League will make History on Friday 8th April 2016.

The Harry Round Cup Final between Royal FC v Saint Michael FC will for the first time in our history we have an all female Match Officials team on a Final.

This achievement is the result of three Wolverhampton Referees' Association members deciding to officiate on the League this season. Three of the Match Officials are looking to move to the next level of refereeing and needed to officiate open age football. They joined the Sunday League and Clubs have welcomed them with much enthusiasm with several clubs quick to praise their performances. Referees Appointments Officer Phil Reade is proud to have this chance to appoint them to the Harry Round Cup Final, he said " all the girls have worked extremely hard this season and the feedback from clubs has been really positive, we are really happy that our league will be part of this history making event, and I have every confidence that they will enjoy the experience to officiate the Final".

Lisa-Marie Lane also a member of Wolverhampton Referees' Association will referee the Final, her second Cup Final appointment in succession having run the line on the Ken Pemberton Cup Final in 2015.

Lisa-Marie's Assistants will be Emily Aldridge & Lucy Berridge, completing the team will be Zoe Birch as 4th Official.

On behalf of the Wolverhampton & District Sunday League Committee we wish them well in this historic Final, the first in our League's history where by all Match Officials will be female.
